MIDNIGHT HOUR
- a solid, traditional toki pendant carved in New Zealand pounamu
Carved by Donna Summers this toki is a clean, crisp design and will appeal to those of you looking for a large, sleek and visually 'strong' pendant. Donna has selected a dark, subtly mottled piece of stone, and has finished it in a buffed satin matte. This is a finish that will develop a hand polished look and feel with wear as it absorbs a little energy from its owner.
The cord is a 4-plait olive and the binding around the head a sea moss bluey/green. The necklace length can be adjusted with a couple of slip knots.
is a stark piece of traditional jewellery, made to be worn all the time.
The toki, or adze, is a symbol of strength. The adze was a key survival tool, so the owner of a good one was believed to be strong and powerful. They were used to carve ocean-going waka (sea canoes) and to build central meeting houses so they played a central role in traditional life of māori.
The toki is traditionally worn for strength and courage - to assist through life's challenges.
is lovingly packaged in a woven kete pouch.
We also include one of our 'Kia Ora' cards, which explains the meaning behind the Toki design.
Delivery with Express Courier is included in the price.
