Tarakihi are common all-around New Zealand, from Three Kings Islands in the North to Stewart Island in the South. A delicately flavoured fish with a medium to firm texture and low oil content. Blast frozen to lock in the freshness and flavour, and individually layered for easy separation.

Tarakihi is managed by Ministry for Primary Industries using the New Zealand Quota Management System (QMS) to ensure sustainable fishing methods are continuously being practiced by all commercial fisheries.
