ABOUT THE DESIGNER: Samuel K Robert was a designer and manufacturer best known for high-end suede, leather and Ultrasuede clothing. A specialist during the 1960s through to the 1980s in suiting, jackets and coats. His clientele included Jackie Kennedy Onassis, Joan Crawford, and Dionne Warwick. Icon Andre Courreges designed for him in 1965; he also employed Chester Weinberg, Bill Smith, and Peter Hatsi-Androu. He died at the age of 93 in 2001.
