Light Requirements: Bright Indirect Light is ideal.

Moisture & Soil Requirements: It prefers evenly moist soil with good drainage in warm seasons - never soggy soil. Water when the container feels light or even when the top few centimetres of the soil is dry.

Growth & Nutrients: Upright central vertical growth from the tip. Grows into a clump of upright canes, sometimes branching. Lower leaves may remain or die off to expose an attractive cane-like stem. Prune tip to encourage branching or let grow tall reaching about 60cm. Suits apartments or homes of any size. Feed with a general-purpose fertiliser for containers from the start of spring each year to autumn when growth slows down.

Temperature, Humidity & Ambient requirements: Give this almost any well-lit indoor space and it should thrive. Prefers warm environments inside and adaptable for nearly any situation, tolerates a range of humidity levels but will be lushest looking in a humid room like a bathroom or kitchen. Frost free environments are required for this plant to survive outside in NZ.
