This Merlot is a prime example of the style produced from the stony soils of Hawke's Bay. Deep ruby red in colour, ripe plum aroma's with vanilla, and cedar notes from the oak. The palate is plush and velvety and shows dark fruits dominated by plum and clove and a hint of mocha, supported by fleshy tannins.

The Gravels merlot cabernet, is deep in colour with a layered fragrant nose of ripe plum and cassis with lifted vanilla, cedar and tobacco notes. The palate has a rich velvet texture with excellent structure, ripe black fruits and cassis flavours with a long full finish. Great cellaring wine for up to 10 years.

Our 2021 Hawke’s Bay Merlot has captivating aromas of violet, ripe raspberries, plums, and subtle star anise spices. It has a rich palate of dark berry fruits and smooth and juicy plush tannin texture. This has superb depth and roundness with a soft, focused finish.

Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, cabernet franc, malbec, petit Verdot. Te Kahu means 'the cloak' in te reo Maori and refers to the mist that envelops Giants Winery in the Tukituki Valley. Legend has it that this mist was used to protect a mythical Maori maiden from the sun as she visited her lover Te Mata. This is a wine of richness and an abundance of black fruit flavours and a long structured finish.

A delicious and generous Merlot with some nice complexity from the small addition of Malbec. Finely textured with juicy ripe plum, spice, cedary oak, dark herbs and some hint of fruit cake. Great balance, depth and succulence

This fabulous wine is the entry level Bordeaux style blend produced at the small boutique producer in Clevedon outside of Auckland. Only estate-grown grapes from the four acres on site are used, which include Merlot, Carmenère, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Cabernet Franc.

The final blend was made up of 43% Merlot, 29% Malbec, 13% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Petit Verdot and 6% Cabernet Franc, with a 20% new oak component.An aromatic scented nose of savoury plum spice, dark berry fruit, vanilla, mocha and warm toasted oak notes. The palate is rich and full, layered with concentrated berry and plum fruit, fine tannin structure and a long juicy finish.
