PestFree Parts: Black PVC 4 way extension elbow
Ideal if you have a bed that is slightly wider than 1m and you would like to extend the frame rather than adding a separate cube.
Also good if you wanted to create a taller frame for crops like beans or tomatoes. Keep in mind it will be harder to lift on and off when it is taller than 1 metre though.
To maintain the strength of the pipe it is best to have pipe cross supports at a maximum of 1m spacing. That is where this PVC 4 way elbow comes into use.
If you wanted to make a 1.5m wide structure
Use a Maxi Kit which is 1m, then use 4 x Black PVC 4 way elbows plus extra pipe to make the frame 1.5m Make sure that you still have the vertical pipe at the 1m mark to keep it strong otherwise you will get a bend appearing in the 1.5m length. The extra pipe will need to be trimmed to the correct length using a handsaw or this pipe cutting tool.
Keep in mind that 1.5m wide is a full two arm stretch to handle so you may find it needs 2 people to lift it on and off.
Our recommendation is to split the space into 2 separate frames to be able to easily handle them by one person.
In our beds we keep everything to a maximum of 1m wide sizes as this is the easiest to handle.
