Here’s something truly special for your backyard – a beautifully handcrafted Herb Planter Box made right here in our Glenhaven workshop by Brian and his son Jimmy.

Each Herb Planter Box is built from repurposed hardwood timber salvaged from old fences and demolished buildings, giving it a charming rustic look that blends perfectly with any garden setting. Using hardwood rather than treated pine makes it safe to grow edibles.

Built to last for multiple years, not just a season, every Herb Planter Box is carefully assembled using a sturdy combination of nails and outdoor-grade wood glue and exterior grade screws.
These Herb plants hold 4 terracotta pots (not included but available at Bunnings - see below)
There is a plastic saucer tray in the base of each Herb Planter Box to catch and store water to keep your herbs happy. We also suggest adding mulch around the pots to keep them damp and cool.
On one side of your Herb Planter Box are 4 chalkboard panels to write the names of your herbs using a liquid chalk pen which is included with your Herb Planter Box.

There are 2 handle designs available.

- A circle handle hole
- A figure 8 handle hole

This herb planter box can be used outside or brought inside for special occasions. Keep in mind that herbs will generally need good sunlight so a sunny spot indoors may be sufficient, otherwise position your planter box outside for best results.
Keep your herbs trimmed with regular harvesting each week or so.
Things to note

Although these photos show the 4 terracotta pots and herbs planted out, you are only purchasing the Timber planter box with handles, internal plastic tray and liquid chalk pen.
We havent figured out how to ship fragile terracotta pots and plants as yet. They would add a couple of kilos to the weight which increases shipping cost.

No need to buy any saucers.

Herbs can usually be purchased for around $4-6 in 10cm pots. We recommend
Oregano, Parsley, Chives and Thyme as a good combination but you can swap in other herbs you prefer.
You will need a small amount of extra potting mix to fill the terracotta pots.
Fill the space around the pots with hardwood mulch (small pieces) to stop the terracotta drying out. The water in the plastic saucer that is built into the Herb Planter Box will spread through the mulch and keep the terracotta cool and damp.
