TOTARA WALL ART
Véronique Desmet is a Belgian artist currently living in New Zealand.

This piece is made of Totara, a rare endemic wood, that she collected out of old fence posts.

Each piece of wood has been burned in an open fire, and then assembled. Finished with a natural oil finish that lends a subtle, semi matt lustre to the surface.

A strong relationship with nature is at the source of the artist creation. Her working rhythms, materials, quality of finish, and place for creation are all linked with nature.

This is a unique piece, conceived and realised by the artist.
