Filipendula vulgaris | Dropwort
Filipendula vulgaris, commonly known as dropwort, is a perennial herbaceous plant that belongs to the Rosaceae family. This plant is characterized by its feathery, fern-like foliage and tall, slender stems that can reach heights of about 50cm-80cm. In late spring to early summer, dropwort produces clusters of small, creamy-white to pale yellow flowers that are quite attractive and often used in traditional herbal remedies.
The leaves are deeply lobed and can give the plant a lush appearance, making it a lovely addition to wildflower gardens or naturalized areas. Dropwort prefers full-sun to afternoon shade and moist, well-drained soils and can often be found in meadows, grasslands, and along stream banks. Overall, Filipendula vulgaris is a charming and beneficial plant that adds beauty and biodiversity to garden spaces.
