Tanacetum vulgare | Common Tansy | Golden Buttons
A wonderful, fragrant leaved, herbaceous perennial. The button shaped golden blooms, which are also fragrant, give great colour to the garden in mid to late summer. Grows to 1 metre tall x 50 cm wide. Prefers a sunny spot but will tolerate some shade, and doesnt mind drying out, so it's an easy care plant! They naturalize well, and benefit from a cut back with shears after blooming, important as it self seeds freely. Also said to repel flies, although no longer used for that these days. Flowers may be dried but cutting and hanging. so versatile!
