Artist Statement:

" of Green Gables" by Lucy Maud Montgomery was one of my favourite books when I was younger. As I grew up in a small, conservative town where I often felt like I didn't quite fit in, was a symbol of resilience, intelligence and freedom (despite difficulties) for me. Finding solace in reading and spending time in nature, using her imagination like , was something I related very deeply to. will always have a special place in my heart and I was extremely glad to be able to paint her. I chose to portray her with a fox, as a symbol of her deep connection to nature, but also her wisdom, adaptability and creativity.
