Artist Statement:
Among the Greeks, was worshiped as the goddess of war, wisdom, and the arts. In Athens, she was Polis, protector of the city! For her intelligence, cunning, and strategy, she was Zeus' favorite daughter. The goddess was also the protector of agriculture and crafts considered feminine, especially spinning and weaving. She granted man the invention of the plow and the flute, and the arts of domesticating animals, building ships, and making shoes. She is often associated with birds, especially the owl.
