Bride of Frankenstein

Artist Statement:

I chose to paint the because to me, she represents not only an iconic character in literature and film, but also the legacy of an incredible woman - Mary Shelley - who wrote the first science fiction novel.

It’s also poignant that in the story, the Bride never truly gets to live.

Through this painting I wanted to bring her to life again, in tribute to both the character and the inspiring woman who created her.
