Rat Hat Cat

Artist Statement: I made the cat out of unbleached cotton and stitch sculpted her face by hand…. all those wrinkles She has hand painted glass eyes and wired ears. I painted her with several layers of watery paint to build up depth and interest and varnished her nose for some gloss. She has nylon whiskers. On her head rests a dead rat, also made out of cotton. All limbs wired. The stomach wound is adorned with an array of red beads and a little plant is growing from it.
