Organic Yacon Plant

Yacon originated in Peru. It has been in New Zealand for over 30 years. There are anecdotal stories that it arrived with Kupe and has been found growing in the Hokianga.

Organically grown in Kerikeri these plants are ready to grow grow grow.

Lots of water and organic fertilizer could yield up to 10kg of Yacon root.

Peel it and eat it. Lots of recipes online.

Harvest in June, July or August.
