Iles Formula is clear about what this is. The Hard Water Shampoo contains the same ingredients as the original award-winning Shampoo, formulated with optimal ingredient percentages for use in hard water areas. As Wendy Iles puts it, it is formulated with a higher percentage of the ingredient she uses to replace sulphates, so it cleanses, revitalises, detangles and adds volume regardless of water conditions.
In place of sulphates, the formula uses a blend of gentle isethionate and taurate cleansers alongside Polymnia sonchifolia (yacon) root juice, the vegetal root extract that gives Iles Formula shampoos their lather. Pentaclethra macroloba (pracaxi) seed oil and hydrolysed silk sit in the formula to condition as it cleanses, with panthenol for moisture and elasticity.
