Preheat oven to 220 °C (425 °F) or 200 °C (400 °F) fan-forced.
In a bowl, add 75 g (½ cup) cold butter (cubed) and the contents of this pack. Rub butter into the mix lightly with your fingertips until crumbly.
Add ¾ – 1 cup cold water and mix gently to a soft dough.
For richer scones, add 1 egg (optional) and reduce water to ½ cup.
On a floured surface, pat and shape dough to 2–2.5 cm thick and cut rounds with a 6 cm cutter (or shape free-form to keep rustic).
Place on a lined tray, close together for soft sides or spaced apart for crisper edges.
Bake 15–20 minutes until risen and golden. Makes 10 scones.
Serve warm, plain or with your favourite toppings. Optional Add-Ins
