When the Moon comes down to visit Christchurch, a young boy becomes his guide for the night.
Together they explore the city’s most loved places, from the trams of Cathedral Square and the gentle Avon River, through Hagley Park and the Botanic Gardens, up to the Port Hills and beyond.
Their journey continues through the Lyttelton Tunnel, out to New Brighton Pier, past a Crusaders game, and on to meet the animals at Willowbank, the Antarctic Centre, and Orana Park, finishing with a breathtaking view from the Gondola.

Some of the illustrations capture Christchurch as it once was before the earthquakes, making this story a gentle tribute to the city’s past and present. Filled with warmth and wonder, Moon Tour of Christchurch is both a bedtime adventure and a celebration of the city’s enduring spirit..complete with a fun fact sheet about the animals they meet along the way.
