BiPAP is a more advanced form of PAP therapy suitable for individuals that:
- Have central sleep apnea or complex sleep apnea.
- Suffer from respiratory insufficiency due to neuromuscular diseases, restrictive lung disorders, or severe COPD.
- Experience difficulty tolerating CPAP therapy due to high-pressure settings required for effective treatment.
- Require ventilatory support post-hospitalization for acute respiratory distress. To Hire this PAP device:
- Select which mask(s) and size and any additional accessories you require. Weekly charge for the selected items will be displayed.
- Select item QTY as the number of weeks required.
- Order and pay for your CPAP Hire.
- Bond must be paid as per below before your equipment can be leased
You should have previous experience, specialist prescription, sleep test study results or BiPAP treatment settings available to hire a BiPAP device. This is because a BiPAP titration study and sleep test results are required to configure the machine according to your condition and respiratory needs.
If you do not have sleep test results but still wish to hire a BiPAP machine, it will be sent to you in a factory state, and you will need to configure the device yourself. We can only offer limited support with BiPAP configuration unless provided with polysomnographic sleep test data or previous BiPAP machine settings.
How does BiPAP differ from Auto CPAP?
BiPAP (Bilevel Positive Airway Pressure) provides two pressure levels: higher for inhalation (IPAP) and lower for exhalation (EPAP), allowing more therapy settings for complex respiratory conditions like Central Sleep Apnea (CSA), COPD, or neuromuscular disorders. Auto CPAP adjusts pressure dynamically for patients with Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) by providing the minimal necessary pressure to keep airways open. BiPAP settings involve specific IPAP and EPAP values determined by a healthcare provider, while Auto CPAP operates within a preset range, adjusting more or less autonomously to find the optimal pressure.
Renting a CPAP/APAP is a popular choice for first-time users to become accustomed to the machine and ensure full compliance before committing to buy. Or if you're traveling and can't fit your current machine or simply forgot it, we're here to help.
