View of Vetheuil

The enchanting by Claude Monet was painted in the summer of 1880 and has been reinvented as an exhibition motif. Monet painted this idyllic view from an island in the Seine River, with the towering poplars obscuring the view of the water. This scene was well known to the artist - it was of a beautiful winding footpath that traversed the poppy field towards to the church tower in Monet's home village. Monet had a distinct love for the beauty of nature and showcases this in his rich, impressionist detail, where light, colour and ambiance are at the soul of Monet's serene scene.
