Beech Grove I

Gustav Klimt painted the rich autumn tones and tall birch columns of in 1902 during his stay on Lake Attersee. It is said that Klimt would wake up early and take walks in the birch forest everyday soaking up the tranquility of the birch forest and we can understand why Klimt spent so much time here. a symbolic Klimt landscape which showcases the shimmering autumn leaves on the forest floor, the bare birch trees defiant in colour and texture against the deep rhythmic hues of oranges, reds and greens in the fallen leaves, the towering trunks spilling over the canvas edge, representing the awe and significance of nature over man. takes us to a destination that Gustav Klimt had great admiration for and in turn created this truly captivating piece of art.
