Nude with Oranges
The instantly captivating by Henri Matisse was painted in 1951 and we have reinvented this original as a gallery motif. Matisse was a passionate impressionist artist where the lines did not have to be entirely precise as long as the overall impression was understood by the viewer. Matisse created the form of the nude in black lines with three oranges (cut-out and added) floating either side of the central model, providing this piece not only an infusion of colour but also showcases Matisse's love to create inventive nude forms using a minimalist mix of media (paintings and cut-outs). Matisse's approach with captures the essence of his change in art medium later on in his life and his outstanding contribution to the modern art movement.
