Released in 1966 The Endless Summer is a documentary surf movie created by filmmaker Bruce Brown who follows two surfers Mike Hynson and Robert August on a surfing trip around the world. The Endless Summer film encompasses the concept that a surfer could follow the summer from the northern hemisphere to the southern hemisphere and back creating an endless summer. An iconic film for its time The Endless Summer team travelled to Australia, New Zealand, Tahiti, Hawaii, Senegal, Ghana, Nigeria and South Africa in a quest for new surf spots and to showcase surfing to locals.
