Haystacks
was painted by Claude Monet during the winter of 1891 and showcases the natural beauty of a snow laden field and haystacks on a sunny day in Giverny, France. Monet elevates the status of the common hay bales by highlighting the importance hay plays in the local agriculture industry and to sustaining life itself. During 1890 and 1891, Claude Monet devoted some thirty paintings to his haystack series which were painted in a field nearby his home. Monet was obsessed with colour and light and the changing of his landscapes during the seasons and differences seen during the morning and late evening. In the midst of his series, Monet wrote "I am working very hard, struggling with a series of different effects (haystacks), but at this season the sun sets so fast I cannot follow it..The more I continue, the more I see that a great deal of work is necessary in order to succeed in rendering what I seek." makes for a sublime statement addition to an array of interior decors and is printed on 310gsm, 100% cotton rag to bring this beautiful scene to life.
