Spencer Block Wines

Eric and Michael Spencer are two Kiwis who love good wine. 'Life’s too short to drink bad wine' is an expression they’ve always championed. Spencer Block Wines was created by Eric and Michael with the vision of sourcing and making wines of the highest quality for their customers.

Both Eric and Michael have a long history in the wine industry. Eric is a former shareholder in Desert Heart wines which is located on Felton Road, in Bannockburn, Central Otago. After selling his Desert Heart shareholding, Eric acquired a vineyard in the celebrated Uco Valley, in Mendoza, Argentina. Michael has many years experience as a wine professional, working in restaurant hospitality and wine sales and distribution.

Winemaker

Our winemaker Ignacio Martinez Giardini is an experienced up and coming young winemaker. Working between both hemispheres he creates amazing wines in both Washington State and Mendoza. We are excited to bring his vision and excellence to our wines.

Tasting Notes

It's a blend of emblematic red grapes from the high altitude vineyards of Mendoza, where the thermal amplitude and soils lend complexity, freshness, natural acidity and structure. Citrus and fruity notes such as raspberry are complemented by warm, subtle tones of peach and apricots. Delicious with food of any kind.
