“J. P. Beuscher” French violin bow

Paul Beuscher founded the Parisian music shop bearing his name in 1850, accessing violins and bows from a wide range of makers, some famous and some not, in the violin making town of Mirecourt, in the Vosges. This attractive, silver-mounted example, stamped “J. P. Beuscher", was probably made in the Jér ô me Thibouville-Lamy workshops using well-selected pernambuco. Despite a relatively light weight, at 55.4 grams, the bow draws a full warm sound, with clear articulation and a readily-available spiccato and sautillé.
