Polystichum proliferum

A tough and attractive Australian native, a hardy ground fern well-suited to New Zealand gardens. It features coarse, dark green fronds with a graceful upright habit, adding texture and structure to shaded areas. Unique to this fern, small plantlets often form at the tips of the fronds, making it a natural self-propagator.
