Stipa gigantea
A striking architectural grass, forms a tidy clump of deep green foliage, providing year-round interest. In spring, it sends up tall, airy stems reaching up to 2 metres, topped with shimmering golden oat-like seed heads that sway gracefully in the breeze.
These elegant spikelets gradually mature to a straw-yellow through summer, adding movement and texture to the garden.
Hardy and drought-tolerant once established. Cut back in early spring as new growth appears. Ideal for borders, dry gardens and adding vertical interest.
