Miscanthus sinensis

A graceful, tall grass forming upright clumps of deep green leaves that can reach up to 2 metres high. Airy, plume-like flower panicles emerge above the foliage and linger through winter, adding year-round interest to your garden.

Perfect for privacy screens and large-scale planting, this hardy grass thrives in well-drained soils and can tolerate a variety of soil types, including clay and sandy soils. It prefers regular watering while establishing but is drought tolerant once mature, making it well-suited to New Zealand’s diverse climate.
