Tradescantia pallida

commonly known as Purple Heart, is a striking trailing houseplant admired for its bold, deep purple foliage that adds vibrant colour and texture to indoor spaces. From mid-summer through autumn, it produces delicate pink-purple flowers with bright yellow stamens at the ends of its stems, offering a soft contrast to the dramatic leaves.

This plant thrives in a bright, indirect light position and prefers to be watered regularly during the warmer months, with reduced watering in winter to prevent root rot. It responds well to occasional trimming, which helps encourage a fuller, bushier form and control its spread.
