Knightia excelsa

A striking New Zealand native tree with a slender, upright form, – commonly known as Rewarewa or Honeysuckle is a beautiful addition to native gardens or revegetation projects. Its narrow, leathery deep green leaves feature coarsely serrated edges, providing year-round interest.

In summer it produces distinctive rusty-red flowers arranged in bottlebrush-like racemes, which are not only visually appealing but also highly attractive to native birds and pollinators.

Rewarewa thrives in full sun to semi-shade and is evergreen, offering structure and greenery throughout the year. Protect young plants from frost until established.
