Kniphofia citrina
commonly known as Yellow Poker, is a striking perennial that forms large, graceful clumps with broad, upright, arching mid to dark green leaves. From late spring onwards, tall, erect flower stems emerge, showcasing dense racemes of tubular flowers that start as bright yellow-green and mature to warm yellow-orange hues, creating a vibrant and dynamic floral display above the foliage.
This hardy plant thrives best in full sun to part shade and adapts well to most free-draining soils, making it an excellent choice for borders, wildlife gardens or as a bold accent in mixed perennial beds. Low maintenance and drought tolerant once established, adds year-round architectural interest and seasonal colour to any garden.
