Thalictrum rochebrunianum
or Meadow Rue, is a graceful perennial prized for its airy elegance and striking vertical presence in the garden. From mid to late summer it produces cloud-like sprays of delicate light purple flowers that hover above the foliage on tall, dark purple stems, adding height and softness to borders and perennial beds.
Unlike some other Thalictrum varieties this selection is self-supporting, often requiring little to no staking, even when in full bloom. It thrives in rich, moist but well-drained soils, performing beautifully in full sun to partial shade.
Perfect for cottage gardens, woodland edges or mixed borders, it pairs well with ornamental grasses, ferns and other shade-tolerant perennials.
