Holden Captiva Opel Antara Universal Joint 24 x 74.5mm - GMB GUK-13

GMB GUK-13 staked universal joint for the Holden Captiva and Opel Antara. Made in Japan by GMB Corporation. New old stock, never fitted. The box shows storage age. The part is new and unused.

Off the box. The dealer label reads U/J GMC CAPTIVA 2.4 STAKED 24.06 x 75.40mm. GMB's own size table gives 24.06mm caps and 74.5mm end to end. Febest sell the same joint as 24 x 74.5. The 75.40 on the label looks like two digits swapped, so we quote 74.5.

What it fits. GMB match GUK-13 to GM part 96624772. GM use that number on the Captiva and Antara propshaft. In New Zealand that means the Holden Captiva, including the Captiva 5, Captiva 7 and MaXX. The same car was sold as the Chevrolet Captiva, Opel Antara and Daewoo Winstorm. The label names the 2.4 petrol. We have not confirmed the V6 or diesel shafts, so measure those.

Staked, sealed for life. No circlips and no grease nipple. The yoke gets peened over each cap.

Fitment

Put a vernier across a cap of the old joint. You want 24mm, and roughly 74.5mm end to end. Send us your rego and we will do the digging if you would rather we did.

Fitting

- Mark the shaft halves before you separate them so they go back in phase.
- Relieve the old stakes before you press the joint out.
- Peen the yoke over each new cap once it is pressed home.
- Look at the centre bearing while the shaft is out. They wear too.
