Holden Commodore VE Ute Caprice Rear Brake Pads - BP1799

Genuine Bosch BP1799 rear brake pad set. Bosch part 0 986 AB1 799, also catalogued as DB1766BL. Eight sets in stock.

Rear axle. Every catalogue listing for DB1766 is rear, though the box itself does not print it. Worth stating up front.

We have the fronts too. Our Bosch BP-1794, catalogue number DB1765BL, is the front set for the same cars. If you are doing the whole car, take one of each.

What the box names

- Holden Commodore VE
- Holden Ute VE
- Holden Caprice WM

The wider catalogue goes further. DB1766 also covers the Commodore VF, Calais VE and VF, Statesman WM, Caprice WN, Chevrolet Lumina WM and the HSV Maloo R8. Across the 3.0 and 3.6 V6, the SV6, and the 6.0 and 6.2 V8, roughly 2006 to 2017. Sedan and ute both.

Check which rear caliper you have. DB1766 is listed elsewhere as suiting the Bosch caliper with the acoustic wear sensor. The VE did not run one caliper across the whole range, so have a look at what is on the car before ordering. Not sure what you are looking at? Send us the rego.

Plenty of VE Commodores here, and rear pads on a heavy rear wheel drive car are a regular job rather than a once in a decade one.

Off the box

- Bosch BP1799, catalogue number DB1766BL
- Bosch part number 0 986 AB1 799, suffix HD3
- One complete set
- Asbestos free
- Robert Bosch GmbH, Karlsruhe. Made in China

Fitment

Commodore, Ute or Caprice of that era, on the rear, with the Bosch caliper. Send the rego and we will confirm the caliper before it ships.

Fitting

- If the car has an acoustic wear sensor, check whether the old one is still serviceable.
- The VE rear caliper piston needs winding rather than pushing. A proper wind back tool saves a lot of swearing.
- Do both sides, and bed them in over the first couple of hundred kilometres.
- Check the handbrake adjustment afterwards. It is easy to leave it dragging.

Best fitted by a qualified mechanic.
