These maples have a weeping or cascading growth habit with fine deeply divided foliage. The delicate dissected leaves are varying shades of purple and green.

It has a slow to moderate growth rate and is deciduous in winter.

Will grow to 1-2m wide and tall when mature.

Likes a sunny spot, well drained rich soil. Hardy and decidious in winter. Good bonzai subject.
