Drop Pounamu Pendant
- Luke Leaf
This beautiful Medium Pounamu Toki is an example of tāonga, which are objects of cultural and spiritual significance to Māori people. Toki are adzes, traditionally used for woodworking, but they also hold symbolic meaning.
They represent strength, determination, and resourcefulness, qualities that were essential for survival in pre-colonial New Zealand.
This particular toki is made from pounamu, a type of greenstone that is highly prized for its beauty and durability. Pounamu is also considered sacred to Māori, and it is often used to create taonga. The toki is carved with a traditional Māori design, which adds to its spiritual significance.
Based in Queenstown, Aotearoa, Luke Leaf creates stunning pounamu carvings which are inspired by natural organic forms, and a mix of both modern and contemporary designs.
This pendant comes bound on an adjustable cord which enables an optimal length to be chosen.
