PEG-150 Distearate Thickener

PEG-150 Distearate (also known as Eumulgin® EO 33) is made from polyethylene glycol and Stearic Acid, and acts as a solubilizer for some oils and fatty materials. This material is well known for its thickening abilities in some formulations, particularly those based on amphoteric surfactants and soaps. PEG-150 Stearate finds application in formulating shampoos, baby care & cleansing formulas, facial care cleansers, liquid soaps, antiperspirants & deodorants and shower/bath products. It melts at 52 - 57C.

Basic Body Wash Formulation;

66% Hot water

1.5% PEG150 Distearate

25% Sodium Cocoyl Glutamate

6% Cocamidopropyl betaine

1% Glycerin

0.2% Panthenol

Keep all products at 60-65C with mixing till clear. Cool to 25C, add preservative, fragrance/essential oil, colour and adjust pH to 6.0 - 6.5
