Polynesian Tapa cloth inspired this piece. The intersecting cuts in the pattern were all carved by hand, not a machine, and the 5 triangular diamonds of F colour and VS clarity that total 0.32ct were specially cut to fit the pattern. They are windowed to allow the skin to shine through and connect the wearer to the jade and diamonds.
The pendant is suspended on a 50cm black leather cord necklace.
Designed by Ian Douglas, founder of the Village Goldsmith, this pendant is part of a series of contemporary designs showcasing the rare black jade from Eyre Peninsula of South Australia.
