When Jessica was asked to design a piece for the Unity Gallery she reflected upon the Kupu 'Unity' and what she sees when she thinks of it.

She said "I see the people coming together to form something bigger than the individual. When we are united, we uplift. When we are united, we form a stronger power. We must fall into Unity and kotahitanga. In doing this we form our own Taniwha ready to arise and confront"
