Baby Ki Blanket

Beautiful Japanese stitch work

For centuries Japan has been a leader of innovation in the knitting world. We created this series to introduce our audience to some of Japan's amazing stitch work and pay homage to the influence their culture has had on knitting.

The Ki Blanket, a design inspired by the Fig tree - a beloved symbol in Japanese culture. Figs are known as the “fruit of longevity" in Japan. The Tree, or Ki, is a symbol of eternal strength.

This pattern is a delight to knit and creates a beautiful baby blanket pattern.

The Ki pattern is made easy with every alternate row being just knit/purl, making for a very therapeutic knit.
