Gisborne Chardonnay
This 2022 was wild fermented in French barriques (approximately 30% new). The wine underwent 100% malolactic conversion and then rested sur lie in the same barrels for about 12 months. It was racked into stainless steel and rested a further 6 months. It was then lightly filtered and bottled.
Legendary wine aficionado Michael Cooper thought it wasn't too bad. see his comments below! 4.5 Stars - Michael Cooper
The elegant, youthful 2022 vintage (4.5 ) was fermented and lees-aged for a year in French oak barriques (30 per cent new). Bright, light lemon/green, it is a fragrant, savoury, medium to full-bodied wine, with vigorous, citrusy, peachy flavours, showing very good delicacy and concentration, and creamy, biscuity notes adding complexity. Still unfolding, it should be at its best mid-2025.
