Dom Schlumberger Les Princes Abbes Riesling 18

About the Wine

The Domaine Schlumberger Les Princes Abbes Riesling is a lovely, bone-dry wine with a lot going on. The nose immediately recalls notes of ripe citrus, with a dash of the more striking lemon zest.

On the palate, the bright acidity is matched by wonderful notes of honey, citrus and a touch of smoke, with a well-rounded feel in the mouth. Like many Alsatian Rieslings, it will continue to develop in bottle for several more years, and it will pair really nicely with fish, lots of Asian dishes, and even fish and chips. About Domaine Schlumberger

Domaine Schlumberger is one of the oldest and most respected wineries in the French region of Alsace, located on the border near Germany. Their land was originally tilled by the local abbots, yet the French revolution led to land being redistributed to the people. Ernest Schlumberger did much work during the early 20th century to improve the estate, as well as purchasing land and planting more vines, after many had been wiped out due to phylloxera.

Domaine Schlumberger offers a huge range of wine made from the main grape varieties of Alsace - Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Muscat – from entry-level all the way up to Grand Cru, some of which will cellar for decades.
