Finca Martelo Rioja Reserva 15/16
Red Still 15% ABV
La Rioja Alta, which bought Torre de Oña in 1995, dates from 1890 and now runs some 650 hectares of vineyards. They remain a producer of some of the finest traditionally-styled riojas of all. They also own wineries in Galicia and Ribera del Duero and have recently acquired another of the historical names of their home region, Rioja Santiago. Through Torre de Oña, La Rioja Alta's intention has been to craft riojas of a more modern style.
" Aromas of ripe dark fruit, walnuts, currant bush and bark. Medium to full-bodied with creamy tannins and bright acidity. Polished and silky with mellow fruit character and a fresh, floral touch to it. Firm finish with notes of chocolate. Drink or hold. " James Suckling
