New Zealand Marden Jade Lashed Toki Wayne Costar Jade Carver
The toki is based on the chisel and is seen as a carving to help one cut through the dross of life.
This lashed toki (adze) pendant is carved from a lovely Marsden jade. The Marsden area is known for some of New Zealand’s finest jades and this stone is a beautiful example. It is a jade stone I obtained from a gold miner a long time ago.
The pendant is carved using the rind and all the colours flowing into the heart. It is a flower jade.
The top of the pendant has a traditional lashing connecting to the cord which has an adjustable double knot which slides to suit the required length.
This pendant is 8.4cm high and 3.6cm widest.
