Aka Black Snakeroot, Rattleweed, Rattleroot and Squaw Root. Native to North America. Black Cohosh was used by Native Americans to treat snake bites, thus the names and as a Ceremonial herb to help enhance visions.

Early American settlers believed it to be one of the main ingredients used in Witches Brews and should a female be caught with it then she was burned as a Witch!
