Vacheron Constantin Historiques Ref. 92239 1990s

The Vacheron Constantin Historiques Ref. 92239 is the Maison's purest dress watch proposition — a round case in 18k yellow gold, a clean silver dial, and at its heart the Caliber 1003, one of the thinnest manually wound mechanical movements ever produced. Measuring just 1.64mm in height, the Caliber 1003 is a movement that Vacheron Constantin developed in collaboration with Jaeger-LeCoultre in the 1950s and which remains, decades later, a benchmark of what the watchmaker's craft can achieve when thickness is the governing constraint. The movement is not merely thin — it is engineered with a precision that produces a wearing experience of exceptional lightness, the watch sitting on the wrist as little more than a disc of warm gold with barely any presence at all until you look at it.
