Allt-á-Bhainne 'Thompson Bros' 1996 / 28 years old 49.1%

Allt-A-Bhainne is a distillery rarely seen in single malt form. This expression, bottled by Thompson Bros in Dornoch has been matured for 28 years, with a four year finish in Oloroso Hogsheads. The nose opens up with aged tobacco and soft brown sugar, followed by dried apple skins and mandarin bitters. The brown sugar makes a return on the palate, followed by dried oranges, ginger loaf and dates. Rye bread, Dutch spiced cookies and date jam linger on the finish.
