Inchgower 'Thompson Bros' 1997 / 27 years old 52.3%

This expression from Inchgower Distillery has been maturing in a pair of refill Hogsheads for twenty seven years. The result is a complex and elegant dram with good oily texture. The nose opens up with almond croissants, pineapple and marshmallow, followed by percy pigs, crunchy nut cornflakes, mango and ginger. On the palate there are notes of tangerine, fresh baked banana bread, pineapples and chewy sweets, more mango marmalade and hints of brine round out the finish.
